Clean Removal for the K2XX Generation
The 2014-2018 Chevrolet Silverado (K2XX) is known for its bold, chrome-heavy front end. Whether you're upgrading to a hand-engraved masterpiece or simply blacking out your build, removing the factory bowtie is the first step.
Tools Needed
- Fishing line or dental floss
- Heat gun or hairdryer
- Adhesive remover (like Goo Gone)
- Plastic pry tools
- Microfiber cloth
Step-By-Step: Tailgate Emblem Removal
Unlike the grille, the tailgate emblem is held on strictly by high-strength adhesive. Heat the emblem for 60 seconds, then use length of fishing line to 'saw' through the foam tape behind the badge. Once the badge is off, apply adhesive remover to the residue and gently wipe away.
