Squarebody Archeology
The 1977-1987 'Squarebody' Chevrolet trucks are legendary. Restoring one requires an eye for detail, especially when it comes to the front grille bowtie which changed mounting styles almost every year.
Screw-Through vs. Snap-In
Early Squarebodies often used a screw-through-the-grille mounting system, with the bowtie sitting on a specific plastic bracket. By the mid-80s, these transitioned to plastic nuts on the back of the grille.
Adding Custom Flair to a Classic
A restoration doesn't have to be 100% factory. A custom-etched bowtie that follows the classic 1980s geometric patterns can add a 'Restomod' feel that separates your truck from every other C10 at the cruise-in.
